The Oldsmobile line was considered GM's experimental division and what was hot for 1957 was the Olds Rocket V8 engine with 400 pounds feet of torque, especially when equipped in the pictured Starfire 98 Holiday Coupe.

As a premium model, power steering, electric windows, power brakes and "Jetaway HydraMatic" automatic transmission all standard equipment. The 98 Series had a 126-inch wheelbase, which was 4-inches longer than the standard Oldsmobile.
