It was a concept platform that went into production to appeal to buyers that desired the riding comforts of a passenger car along with utility of a light truck, the Ranchero fit the bill!
The 1959 edition was a clean, stylish rendition of the work/play machine, and could be ordered with the powerful 352-cid V8. After 1959 the Ranchero line was switched to a smaller Falcon-based platform, making this version the very last of the full-sized Rancheros.
